Allan Douglas

Allan Douglas was from Northfield in Aberdeen, Scotland. He joined the British Army at the age of 17 - he served with the The Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons). Allan had seen active service in Kosovo & Bosnia, he had been based in Germany before embarking upon a tour of duty to Iraq as a recently promoted Lance Corporal. He was deployed to Al Amarah in October 2005 with Delta Company, 1st Battalion The Highlanders as part of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Battle Group. . . . Allan was killed on 30-Jan-06, whilst attached to 7th Armoured Brigade, he was shot whilst on foot patrol in al-Amarah, Maysan. A full military funeral was conducted back in Aberdeen. He was 22 years old.
