Tan Sri Abdul Samad Ismail  (Pak Samad)

Infamous, veteran, Malay Journalist, Pak Samad, was very popular amongst the Straits Times team in Singapore. He was a creative writer, and a political activist - he was a founding member of the Gerakan Angkatan Muda (Geram) and of the PAP (People's Action Party). Aged 84, at 6pm on 4-Sept-08, he passed away at the Pantai Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur suffering from a Lung infection and Kidney problems. His final resting place will be the Muslim cemetery at Bukit Kiara.
